Hi, I'm Alonsa!
I’m a Chilean-American artist and oil painter endlessly inspired by the beauty, mystery, and aliveness of the natural world. Fruit, botanicals, light, texture, and atmosphere are at the heart of my work, and over time, sharing that way of seeing has brought together a community of 80K+ people on Instagram.My paintings have been exhibited internationally and featured in publications including Forbes, Time Out NYC, VICE, and The National News UAE.

IN MY COURSE YOU WILL LEARN

An introduction to the course and a look at how observation and strong reference photos shape every painting that follows.
Module 2
Get familiar with your materials and the core vocabulary of color, hue, value, saturation, and temperature.
Module 3
Learn to build volume and depth through value, and practice a loose, freehand approach to drawing directly on canvas.
Module 4
Build your own color registry, explore complementary colors, and see how different palettes change the mood of a painting.
Module 5
Apply what you've learned to a full painting, working with saturation, edge control, and temperature shifts to create depth.
Module 6
Begin your final piece, from composing your own reference to laying in the sky and the first values of your composition.
Module 7
Finish your final painting, building the foliage and fruit in layers and adding the details that bring it to life.

Inside Alive Nature, I want you to feel as though you’re stepping into my studio and painting alongside me.
Across 35+ video lessons and 6.5+ hours of content, I’ll guide you through my process, from choosing references and understanding your materials to value, freehand drawing, color, temperature, edges and, finally, bringing everything together in a complete oil painting. The lessons are visual and practical. You’ll see the references I work from, watch how I mix and adjust color, follow each stage of a painting, and pause whenever you want to try the techniques yourself.
Because Alive Nature is completely self-paced, you can move through the course in a way that suits your own practice, revisiting exercises or spending more time on the lessons you need most.
